VIDEO & PHOTOS: Patuxent River Park & Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary

This video and photos are from the Critical Area Driving Tour that follows a one-way route from the Patuxent River Park to the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary. The CADT is open to horses, cyclists and hikers throughout the week and only open to cars on Sundays. The CADT is closed from October through December every year.

The 4.5 mile one way trail is partially paved, includes a wooden bridge crossing the Mattaponi Creek and the portion within the Merkle Widlife Sanctuary is gravel road.

~2 minute section includes paved trail in Patuxent River Park, wooden bridge and entry into Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary gravel road
